PRIVACY POLICY

Overview

Device Monitor is built with your privacy as a fundamental principle. The app reads system diagnostics directly from your device using Apple's native iOS frameworks. All data is processed and displayed locally — nothing is ever transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party.

Your device information belongs to you. We have no interest in collecting, storing, or monetizing it.

  1. Information We Access

    We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The following device data is accessed solely to display real-time information within the app interface:

    Hardware Diagnostics — Device model, chip identifier, total RAM, storage capacity. Purpose: Dashboard hardware overview display.

    CPU Monitoring — Per-core utilization, overall load average, thread counts. Purpose: Live CPU monitoring panel.

    Battery & Thermal — Battery level (%), charging state, thermal state. Purpose: Live battery monitoring and local alert thresholds.

    Display — Screen resolution, pixel density, brightness level, refresh rate. Purpose: Display specifications panel.

    Network — Local IP addresses, interface statistics, estimated throughput. Purpose: Network monitoring panel.

    Motion Sensors — Availability of accelerometer, gyroscope, pedometer hardware. Purpose: Hardware capability detection only — no motion data is recorded.

    Location (Capability Check Only) — Whether GPS / compass hardware is present and available. Purpose: Hardware detection only — your actual GPS coordinates are never read, stored, or transmitted.

    Bluetooth — BLE hardware state (on / off / unavailable). Purpose: Hardware capability detection.

    Camera — Camera hardware availability and configuration. Purpose: Hardware specification display.

    Biometrics — Whether Face ID / Touch ID hardware is present. Purpose: Hardware capability detection — no biometric data is ever accessed.

    All data is read locally and remains entirely on your device.

  2. Data Storage & Retention

    No Account Required — Device Monitor does not require sign-in or account creation. No user profile is created or maintained.

    App Settings — Preferences such as refresh interval and notification toggles are stored using Apple's UserDefaults (AppStorage) on your device. This data never leaves your device.

    TestKit Results — Diagnostic test results are saved locally on your device. They are never uploaded, shared, or synced to any external service.

    Generated Reports (PDF) — Reports are generated entirely on-device and written to temporary local storage. You choose whether to share them using the iOS Share Sheet. The app itself does not upload reports anywhere.

    Data Deletion — Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored settings and data from your device. No data persists on any server because no data was ever sent to one.

  3. Third-Party Services

    Device Monitor does not integrate any analytics or telemetry platforms (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel), advertising networks or SDKs, crash reporting services (e.g., Crashlytics, Sentry), social login or identity providers, or any tracking or fingerprinting libraries.

    Single Optional Network Request — The App makes one optional, read-only network request to the public service api.ipify.org solely to display your external (public) IP address on the Network screen. This request transmits no personal data — it is a standard HTTP GET request identical to visiting any website. If you do not use the Network screen, this request is never made.

  4. Permissions

    The App requests the following iOS permissions only when you access the relevant feature. All permissions are optional and can be revoked at any time via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security.

    Bluetooth — Used to detect whether BLE hardware is available and powered on. No Bluetooth data is read, logged, or transmitted.

    Motion & Fitness — Used to detect accelerometer, gyroscope, and pedometer availability. No motion data (steps, movement, orientation) is recorded or stored.

    Location (When In Use) — Used only to detect whether GPS / compass hardware is present. Your actual location coordinates are never accessed, stored, or shared.

    Notifications — Used to send optional local alerts for: Low battery (threshold configurable in Settings), Low storage (threshold configurable in Settings), High thermal state warning. Entirely opt-in. No notification data is sent to any server.

    To revoke permissions: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > [Permission Type] or iOS Settings > Device Monitor

  5. Local Notifications

    When you enable alert thresholds in the App's Settings, iOS schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely by iOS — no network request or server is involved. The App has no ability to send push notifications.

  6. Data Security

    Because Device Monitor never transmits your data, there is no remote database, API key, or server-side storage to secure or breach. The only data at rest is your local app preferences (UserDefaults), which are protected by iOS's standard sandboxing and device encryption.

  7. Children's Privacy

    Device Monitor is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). The App does not knowingly collect any information from children.   8. International Users

    Device Monitor is developed and operated in India. By using the App, you acknowledge that no personal data is collected or processed regardless of your location. The App does not transfer any user data across borders because it does not transfer user data at all.

  9. Changes to This Policy

    If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

TERMS OF USE

  1. Acceptance of Terms

    By downloading, installing, or using Device Monitor ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not download, install, or use the App. These Terms apply to all users of the App worldwide.

  2. License Grant

    Devashy Rangpariya ("Developer") grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, subject to: (a) These Terms of Use, (b) Apple's App Store Terms of Service, (c) All applicable local, national, and international laws. This license does not transfer any title or ownership in the App to you.

  3. Permitted Use

    The App is provided for personal, non-commercial, informational use. You may use the App to monitor real-time hardware and software performance of your own device, run built-in hardware diagnostic tests on your own device, generate diagnostic reports about your own device's system state, and export or share reports you have generated for personal reference.
